Description
The pavilion, located about 250 yards south-west of the Church of St Michael, was built in 1854 and is likely designed by Woodyer for the Rev Sir Frederick Gore Ouseley. It features dressed coursed rubble with brick dressings and is partly tile-hung, showcasing bands of chevron-patterned tiles. The roof is plain tiled with overhanging eaves and a tall central brick chimney that has a group of four square stacks and a joint cap.
This L-plan structure is a single storey with an attic, which includes half-dormers and a chamfered plinth. On the main south-west elevation, there is a timber-framed full-height bay window to the right of centre, which forms a gabled half-dormer for the upper floor. The ground floor has a 5-light mullioned and transomed window with leaded casements, while the attic storey features a 5-light window with leaded casements and a row of quatrefoil-shaped panels beneath it. The date "1854" is inscribed within the gable.
On the north-west gable end, the upper storey jetties out on shaped brackets and includes an oriel attic window with a lean-to roof and a 4-light mullioned window. The main entrance below has a round-headed archway and a door adorned with decorative strap hinges.
