Description
These stables, located about 35 yards southwest of Charlton House Farmhouse, date from the early 19th century. They are partly timber-framed with brick infill and feature a hipped roof on the southeast side. The other part is constructed of brick with a tiled roof and includes bull-nosed brick piers that may have been part of a former cart-shed. The timber-framed section has a three-bay layout with two doorways, one being a double door facing the farmyard, and a gable end door. Inside, there are two king post trusses. The brick section has a six-bay layout, with the northwest end bay containing a loft above, and each bay has a door to the farmyard. The interior features four raking strut trusses. This building is included for its group value.
