Description

The Old Rectory is a mid-18th century rectory, later converted into flats. It is located on Church Road in Belbroughton. The building is constructed of brick with hipped plain tiled roofs and tall brick stacks, including a central ridge stack. The design incorporates three-course bands between storeys, and dentilled eaves cornices. It is partly three storeys high and partly two storeys high with a 1:3:1 bay arrangement, the central part being the earliest in date and three storeys high. Most windows are 12-pane sashes with cambered heads, though those on the ground floor of the outer bays have been replaced with plain sashes. The second-floor windows of the central part are 6-pane sashes. The main entrance, located to the right of the central part, features an open pediment, a pilastered surround, raised and fielded panelled reveals, a soffit, a six-panelled door, and a traceried fanlight. Internally, original ceiling mouldings, window shutters, and woodwork have been retained. A 20th-century conservatory adjoins the right end of the building.
