Description

Church View is a house dating to the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. It is located on Church Hill in Belbroughton, shown on Ordnance Survey maps as numbers 34 and 36. The house has a timber-frame structure, largely obscured by painted brick facing and replacement walling, and a plain tiled roof with two large 19th-century brick ridge stacks. It is arranged over a single storey and attic, with dormers. While the external timber framing is largely hidden, remnants of old purlin ends are visible in the gables. The south front features 4-light and three 3-light 20th-century casement windows. There are three gabled dormers, each containing 2-light 20th-century casements. The central entrance has a 20th-century gabled brick porch and a 20th-century glazed door. Inside, some wall framing is visible, along with heavy ceiling beams. A 20th-century addition is to the rear left. The building is prominently situated alongside the Church of the Holy Trinity and is included for its group value.
