Description

Chapelgreen Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, which was remodeled in the early and late 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a tiled roof. The original layout was probably T-shaped, with a cross-wing running east to west and another range to the north. The central stack of the cross-wing has three six-point star-plan shafts.

The east front, facing the street, has a gabled projecting range from the late 19th century, which is one storey high with an attic lit by a three-light casement window. The ground floor features a canted bay window and planted framing on the first floor. To the right, there is a timber-framed range with a porch at the angle. The two-storey porch is timber on brick, gabled to the right, and has a casement window on the return front. The entrance on the east side has a ledged and boarded door, and the range to the right includes a three-light casement window on the first floor.

The framing consists of two rectangular panels high with straight angle braces on the first floor. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace with a massive chamfered stone lintel and much exposed timber. The late 19th-century part of the house is designed in the style of Bournville, and the building is owned by the Bournville Village Trust.
