Description

Heather Cottage is a late 17th-century house with later alterations and 20th-century additions, located on the east side of Mill Lane in Wolverhampton. Originally part of the Wightwick estate, its address has changed over time and it was previously listed as numbers 51 and 53. The house is constructed of brick and has a tile roof with brick end stacks. It is a two-unit plan building, single-story with an attic. The front has a two-window range, featuring windows with wooden mullions and leaded glazing – a low four-light window on the left and a three-light window on the right. Gabled half-dormers light the attic. A glazed lean-to porch with a wide-boarded door is located to the right of the centre entrance. The rear of the house includes a later outshut under a catslide roof and a 20th-century two-story flat-roofed wing to the right. The interior retains chamfered beams.
