Description
The Dog and Partridge Inn is a public house that likely dates back to the late 16th century, with later alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a double-depth plan and is constructed of brick with a painted timber-frame pattern, topped with a tiled roof and brick stacks. The building is a single storey with an attic and has a three-window range, along with a two-storey addition on the left side. The windows are segmental-headed and have 20th-century casements. There are two gabled dormers, with the smaller one located to the left of the gabled porch. A small re-entrant block is situated under a catslide roof, and the addition includes a casement window on the first floor. The left end of the single-storey range has a large stack, with additional stacks for the cross-axial and right gable-end. The rear of the building features a parallel gabled range with a cross-axial stack and a two-storey gabled wing. Inside, the inn has chamfered beams with run-out stops, a fireplace with a fire beam and an inserted range with a crane, remnants of muntins from a partition wall, and a small exposed panel of wattle and daub.
