Description
This summerhouse, located on Plot 25, dates from the late 19th century and is constructed of red brick. It features a gable-ended roof that is covered in felt and has a brick stack at the gable end. The building is a small, single-cell structure with an entrance at one end and a fireplace at the opposite end. It is a single storey with a symmetrical gable end front, which includes a central doorway with a segmental arch and a plank door. There are small windows on either side of the door, each topped with cambered blue brick arches.
Stoney Road Gardens, also known as Park Gardens, were established for the owners of townhouses in Coventry who lacked gardens. These pleasure gardens were created shortly after 1853, and by 1887, the northern half of the site had been developed into small gardens enclosed by hedges and divided by paths. Only eight of the original summerhouses remain today.
