Description
This is a summerhouse built around the late 19th century, located in Stoney Road Gardens, Coventry. It is constructed of red brick and features a gable-ended roof with wavy bargeboards. The building has a small rectangular plan and is single storey, with a symmetrical gabled front. The entrance is at one end, featuring a pointed arch doorway at the center, flanked by small pointed arch windows on either side. The interior has not been inspected. Stoney Road Gardens, also known as Park Gardens, was designed for the owners of townhouses in Coventry who lacked gardens. These gardens were established shortly after 1853, and by 1887, the northern half had been developed into small gardens enclosed by hedges and divided by paths. Only eight of the original summerhouses remain.
