Description
10 The Quadrant is a mid-19th century building located on Warwick Road. It features a stucco exterior and a roof covered with Welsh slate. The building stands three storeys tall and has a second-floor entablature adorned with a modillion cornice. The windows are sash style.
The ground floor is rusticated and includes arched windows in a canted bay on the left side. The doorway is segmentally arched and flanked by slim Doric pilasters, with consoles that support the cornice above. To the left on the first floor, there is a window situated between rusticated quoins and pilasters, beneath a rusticated wall that features a segmental window arch. Above this, on the second floor, is a three-light arched window with keyblocks, an impost band, and panelled pilasters.
On the right side, there is a recessed wing with channelled angle pilasters. A single-storey front wing has a rusticated arched window with entablatures at the impost level. The turret is decorated with panelled Doric pilasters and a bracketed cornice, topped with a hipped roof. It features a pair of dummy arched windows at the front and one arched side window with panelled pilasters, an archivolt, and a keyblock.
At the back, there is a canted bay with arched windows on the ground floor. The building is included for its group value, as it forms part of a group with Nos 1 to 10 (consecutive).
