Description
1-4 The Quadrant is a mid-19th century building located on Warwick Road. It is constructed of stucco with a Welsh slated roof and stands three storeys high. The second floor features an entablature with a modillion cornice. The building has sash windows and includes a recessed one-window wing on the left side, along with three canted two-storey bay windows and one single-storey canted bay on the right. At the first floor level, there is a 1:3:2:3:2:3:3 arrangement of windows, each with cast iron balcony railings. The corners of the building are accentuated with rusticated quoins. The ground and second floor windows have segmental heads, with archivolts on the ground floor and eared architraves on the first floor. Number 4 features a rusticated ground floor and segmental-headed windows on the first floor. This building is included for its group value, as it forms part of a group with Nos 1 to 10.
