Description
7 The Quadrant is a mid-19th century building featuring a stucco exterior and a Welsh slated roof. It stands three storeys high and has a second-floor entablature with a modillion cornice. The building includes sash windows and a central three-storey canted bay. The ground and first floors are channelled, with rusticated quoins. The arched windows on the ground floor are framed by pilasters and archivolts, while there are square-headed three-light windows to the left. The doorway on the right has marginal lights and an oblong fanlight. The first-floor side windows are framed by Composite pilasters and entablatures, with the central window featuring an eared architrave under consoles and a keyblock decorated with paterae. The second floor has narrow round-headed windows, with four in the center and two pairs on either side, all adorned with archivolts and impost bands. This building is included for its group value with Nos 1 to 10, which form a cohesive group.
