20, Calthorpe Road B15

20 Calthorpe Road is an early 19th-century villa from around 1820-1830, located in the Calthorpe Estate in Edgbaston. The building features a symmetrical three-bay elevation over two storeys, constructed in Grecian stucco. It has a plinth and shallow rustication on the tall ground floor, which is divided into round-arched panels that contain windows. The first floor is accentuated by a band, with a cornice and blocking course that includes a raised central panel. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, supported by brick chimney stacks. The windows are revealed glazing bar sashes.

The entrance is recessed and framed by pilasters, featuring a frieze with a Soanian incised pattern and a modillion cornice. To the left of the main building is a set-back two-storey former coach house, which has a hipped lean-to slate roof and now includes a through archway. To the right, there is a small one-storey wing with a gabled pediment, which may have been a former billiard room, featuring a bracket-moulded arched tripartite window.
