Description

These are a pair of red brick houses, numbers 52 and 53, dating to around 1840. They form part of an irregular terrace of houses numbered 50 to 58 on Lee Crescent, in Edgbaston. The houses are two storeys high and feature single-bay fronts. Each house has a doorway on the left side. The roofs are slate, with shallow eaves and stucco detailing, and tall brick chimney stacks. The windows are glazing bar sash windows, set within flat, gauged brick arches and have stucco sills. The doorways have stucco frames with cornices supported by console brackets. The doors themselves are a combination of two with two flush panels and two with moulded panels, each with a rectangular fanlight above and panelled reveals.
