Description

The gate piers and flank boundary walls to Number 45 on Wellington Road date from around 1835 to 1840. They consist of two pairs of gate piers that lead to carriage sweep entrances. The gate piers are made of painted brick and feature stucco medallion friezes, cornices, and pyramid caps. The flank walls, which extend back to the house, are constructed of red brick and have stone copings. Each wall has five upsweeps and is supported by red brick buttress piers with blue brick set-offs. The terminal piers are similar to the gate piers and are topped with fluted vases.
