Description
No. 46 Carpenter Road is a detached stucco villa built between 1850 and 1855. It has two storeys and three bays, with a set-back one-bay wing at the end that adjoins a coach house on the right. The villa features a hipped slate roof with boxed eaves supported by modillion brackets and has corniced stucco chimneys. The windows have consistent fenestration, with architrave surrounds and glazing bar sashes. There is an enclosed pilastered porch with channelling leading to an arched entrance, which contains a double four-panel door and a plain fanlight. The adjoining coach house, which has two lower storeys, features coupled architrave framed windows above the doors. Its new elevation is made of exposed brick and includes a fall height bow.
