Description

Lloyds Bank and Chambers is a building located at Nos 61 and 65 Villa Road in Lozells, dating from around 1840 to 1850. Originally, it was a pair of two-storey red brick terraced houses, with the last two bays altered and extended for bank use between 1900 and 1914. The building features a half hipped slate roof with flat eaves. It has revealed sash windows, with smaller round-headed windows positioned above the doorways. The doorways are also round-headed and recessed, featuring one order with panelled doors and fanlights. The bank alterations include segmental arched windows on the ground floor and a stucco balustraded parapet on the first floor, which is free-standing over the ground floor banking hall extension to the east.
