Description
This is a large, circa 1850s Italianate house located on Henley Road, Budbrooke. The exterior is stuccoed with rusticated quoins and a moulded string course; the ground floor exhibits banded rustication. The low-pitched slate roof has paved console brackets to the eaves soffit. The north-facing entrance front has a 2:1:2 bay arrangement, with the centre and left and right sections projecting forward. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within moulded architraves on the first floor. A wide central portico features Ionic columns supporting an entablature with a massive cornice. The portico provides access to a panelled door, flanked by side lights, and surmounted by a large rectangular fanlight. The interior retains some original features.
