Description

This house, now converted into flats, was built around 1838 to 1850, with later additions and alterations, including a rear extension. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with ashlar dressings, a cement-tile roof, and a cast-iron verandah.

The house is two storeys high and has three windows on the first floor. It features quoins and the first floor has 1/1 mock sash windows with side-lights, set within flat, rusticated arches and raised keystones. The ground floor has five steps leading to a central entrance with a part-glazed, six-panel door and side-lights incorporating glazing bars and pilaster strips, as well as a divided overlight. The ground floor windows are tall 2/2 sashes with side-lights in plain reveals, also set within flat, rusticated arches with keystones. The roofline has a low parapet, copings, and end stacks. A continuous verandah with an anthemion motif balustrade runs along the ground floor.

The interior has not been inspected. Historical research indicates the building's context within the development of Royal Leamington Spa.
