Description
This is a mid-19th century villa, later converted into flats. It is built of reddish-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof, and is designed in a Jacobean style. The building has an irregular double-pile plan, with a higher range projecting to the right, and a porch and left bay similarly projecting.
The villa is two storeys high with four first-floor windows. The off-centre entrance features a part-glazed door with a fanlight, set within a round-arched surround with an impost band and projecting voussoir. To the left of the entrance is a round-arched light with an apron and keystone, followed by a 1/1 sash window with a quoined surround and chamfered jambs, a tall, narrow light with a chamfered sill, and a three-light casement window with a mullion and transom design, and a tooled and quoined surround.
On the first floor, a decorative sill band is present to the left, above which is a round-arched light with a tooled surround and keystone. This is followed by a 1/1 sash window with a quoined and chamfered surround, then a round-arched light with a tooled surround and keystone. The projecting right wing has a moulded continuous sill band and a three-light casement window with a mullion and transom design.
The building has a stepped, tooled cornice, a low parapet with copings, and curvilinear gable ends. Tall end and rear stacks are present. The roof incorporates some fish-scale tiles. The interior has not been inspected.
