Description
Sherwood is a house dating from the 1840s and 1850s, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facades, and has a Welsh slate roof.
The house is two storeys and four bays, with a deeply recessed entrance bay to the left. The ground floor features a plinth and horizontal rustication. A panelled door with an overlight of glazing bars is set within a moulded surround, accessed by three steps. The central window has been removed from both ground and first floor levels; the remaining ground-floor windows are tall sashes with single panes in double-chamfered reveals. A first-floor band supports four pairs of Ionic pilasters, positioned at the ends of the bays and between them. First-floor windows are sashes with horns and sills, all with single panes. The recessed bay contains a sash window with a round-arched overlight in a moulded surround. A continuous frieze, dentil cornice, and low parapet top the facade. Tall end stacks are present, featuring stepped cornices.
The interior has not been inspected.
