Description
The Leam Hotel is an early to mid-19th century villa, later adapted for use as a hotel. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facades, topped by a Welsh slate roof. The two-storey, three-window front features six-pane sash windows to the first floor, with a blind opening between them; all are set in plain reveals with sills. Two six-pane sashes with margin lights are present on the ground floor, also in plain reveals and with tooled architraves. Two roll-edged steps lead to a central entrance with a four-fielded-panel door and three-pane overlight, itself set within a tooled architrave with a frieze and cornice. The left return features a garden facade with six-pane sashes to the first floor and ten-pane French windows with divided overlights on the ground floor, both set within tooled architraves. The rear has a long four-pane staircase sash with margin lights, accompanied by a 20th century window to the first floor which incorporates a blind box. The roof is hipped, with stacks bearing cornices on the left and rear. The interior has not been inspected.
