Description
Monmouth House is a house built around 1843, located on Farley Street in Royal Leamington Spa. The building features pinkish-brown brick in English Garden Wall bond on the right side, with painted stucco on the front and left facades, topped with a Welsh slate roof.
It stands two storeys high and has four first-floor windows, including a deeply recessed bay on the left. The house has a chamfered plinth and an off-centre entrance that consists of a six-panel door with a fanlight, set within a round-arched recess. This entrance is adorned with an engaged porch supported by Doric pilasters, a frieze, and a blocking course.
To the left of the entrance, there is a continuous sill band and a round-arched window in an oblong surround with plain reveals, along with a first-floor band. The windows throughout the house are six-over-six sashes, with those on the ground floor featuring moulded architraves, friezes, and cornices, all having plain reveals and sills. The roof is hipped, and there are end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
