Description
Gypsy Cottage and The Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century, constructed with a timber frame and featuring painted brick infill panels. They have steeply pitched thatched roofs with gabled ends. The Cottage, located at the north, is two storeys high and has three light casement windows along with a plank door set in a recessed porch. A brick chimney stack is positioned against the front elevation, and there is a lean-to structure at the north gable. Gypsy Cottage, at the south, has recently been renovated and consists of one storey with an attic. It features two three-light casements with glazing bars and an eyebrow dormer that includes a four-light casement with glazing bars. Attached to the south gable is a modern timber-framed extension with red brick infill panels, set on a sandstone plinth and topped with a hipped thatched roof. This extension also has two-light casements with glazing bars and a small eyebrow dormer, along with two brick chimney stacks.
