Description
Wootton Paddox is a large, regular red brick house dated 1824, with possible heightening around 1840. It features a low pitched slate roof with hipped ends and wide projecting eaves, along with string bands between the floors. The building has three storeys and a five bay facade, with the central four bays projecting slightly. There are five sash windows with glazing bars, flat arches made of rubbed bricks, and cills. The top floor windows, which are shorter, have balustraded recesses below them. A central projecting porch is supported by pilasters with moulded capitals and features an entablature. The entrance has paired hardwood doors topped with a segmental fanlight that includes glazing bars. There are two brick chimney stacks, and a small one bay, two storey wing is attached to the west side. The interior is noted for its good contemporary features.
