Description
The Rock is a timber-framed cottage dating from around the 17th century, with additions made in the mid and late 19th century. The building features painted brick and rubble stone infill panels within the timber frame. The north gable has been rebuilt using red brick and imitation timber-framing. It has a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends and stands one storey high with an attic. On the east side, there is a splayed bay window and a dormer that contains a two-light casement, both of which have glazing bars. Inside, the cottage boasts chamfered and end-stopped oak ceiling beams. The later additions to the south and west are constructed of red brick and also have steeply pitched plain tile roofs, rising to two storeys.
