Description

No. 54 Smith Street is a two-storey plus attic building dating from 1781. It is constructed of colourwashed brickwork with rusticated stone quoins. The building features a small wooden cornice at the eaves that is decorated with egg-and-tongue moulding. The upper floor has sash windows set in cased frames, and there are carved keystones above these windows. The central opening has been blocked up and features a keystone that is carved with a head. The shop front is designed in a Neo-Georgian style for the Leamington Spa Building Society. The roof is tiled and includes a gabled dormer. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the south side of Smith Street, from Nos 54 to 76.
