Description
The buildings at 2 and 4 St Nicholas Church Street originally formed part of a malting house and were later converted into two cottages. The 18th century red brick front wall continues the roofline of the adjoining malting. The two-storey structure has a first-floor band and two small gabled dormers in the attic. There are two casement windows under cambered relieving arches on the first floor. Number 2 has a six-panel door with cut brackets supporting a small gabled hood, while Number 4 has a boarded door with similar brackets and hood. The premises were formerly occupied by Currall, and numbers 2 to 12 (even) form a group.
