Description

The White Horse is a 16th or 17th century inn, later converted into a house, with a 20th-century restoration and addition. It is timber-framed with plaster infill, and incorporates a rear wing built of blue lias stone. The building has tile roofs and end stacks of blue lias rubble and brick.

The building has an L-shaped layout. The two-storey, two-window front has a jettied first floor. The ground floor features canted bay windows with 6-pane casements, while the first floor has a 3-light and a 2-light casement window. The ground floor exhibits close-studded timber framing, while the first floor has square timber framing. The roof is gabled.

The returns of the building have stacks with offsets and brick shafts. A lean-to porch with paired doors is located on the left return, and a lean-to porch together with a small first-floor window are on the right return. The rear has a two-storey wing with a large 20th-century addition to the left. The interior was not inspected.
