Description

Binton Hill Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse with alterations and additions from the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed blue lias rubble with brick dressings and brick additions, and has a renewed tile roof with renewed brick end stacks. The main part of the house is symmetrical, with three windows on each floor and an attic. It has a top brick cornice. The front entrance features an architrave and a door with two fielded panels and two flush panels, alongside a trellis porch. The sash windows have segmental brick heads over three-light, transomed casements. A symmetrical gabled roof tops the main structure. To the left is a single-storey service wing with an end stack, and a smaller extension. The service wing includes three-light casements with small panes and a stone gabled projection, potentially a bakehouse, with a plank door in the gable. The rear of the farmhouse has two hipped, single-storey wings, one of which is a garage with paired doors, and a re-entrant entrance to the wing. The interior has not been inspected.
