Description
Alcester Lodge Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse that has been refaced and enlarged in the 18th century. It is timber framed and faced in brick, featuring a brick dentil cornice. The building has a 20th-century tiled roof with brick and stone chimneys. It has a complex L-plan layout and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with an overlight that has glazing bars, set in a moulded wood surround. There is a simple 19th-century open wood porch. The windows are wood mullioned, transomed, and casement types; some have brick segmental arches while others have painted wood lintels. A projecting wing is located on the left side, and the left section of the main range extends out on the ground floor. The roof structure is complex with three parallel roofs at the front. A brick stack at the angle features lias quoins, a brick cornice, and four diagonally-set square shafts made of thin bricks. The rear of the farmhouse has a panelled door and irregular window arrangements. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a cooking range that has been inserted. The interior is said to have chamfered ceiling beams, although a full inspection was not possible.
