Description

This field barn, located at SP 0617 5577, is likely from the early 18th century. It features timber square framing with a small amount of bracing, lath and plaster, and later brick infill, all resting on a brick plinth. The roof is covered with old tiles. The barn consists of three bays and has a central doorway, although the doors are missing. Inside, there are diagonal braces from the wall posts to low retaining walls on either side of the central bay. The roof structure includes queen struts and collars, which are intact. The barn is in poor condition, and there are low open sheds with a similar roof added on the right side.
