Description
Rightons is a shop with a dwelling above, originally built as a house in the mid-18th century. It features squared, coursed limestone that is rendered, topped with a 20th-century tile roof and a stone-coped gable on the right side. The building has two storeys plus an attic and is arranged in a T-shaped plan with a four-window range.
At the center, there is a 19th-century six-panel door with a plain overlight, supported by consoles that hold up a small canted bay on the first floor. To the right of the door is a 19th-century sash window. On the far left, there is a 19th-century part-glazed door with a 19th-century shop front immediately to its right, both of which have pilaster surrounds. On the first floor, to the far left, is another small 19th-century canted bay. In the center and far right of the first floor are 19th-century sashes with moulded wood surrounds. The building also has three 19th-century dormers, two of which are gabled and one hipped.
At the rear, there is a two-storey stone range from the 18th century, featuring a brick end stack and a coped gable. Inside, the building is noted for having a chamfered spine beam.
