Description
Fexloe House is a house built in the early 18th century, consisting of two building periods. It is made of squared, coursed ironstone and features a storey band on the right and coped gables. The slate roof has brick ridges and end stacks, supported by stone bases. The house has two storeys plus an attic and a three-window range, arranged in a three-unit plan.
The entrance is located to the centre left and consists of a six-panelled door with a 20th-century overlight and a dressed stone surround. To the left, centre, and right of the door are 20th-century three-light casements, with the left one having a segmental stone lintel with a keyblock. There are three additional 20th-century two-light casements on the first floor, all featuring stone sills. The roof has a gabled dormer located to the centre and right. Attached to the left is a one-storey, one-unit range from the 18th century.
Inside, there are some chamfered spine beams and an inglenook fireplace that includes two small original salt cupboards, one of which has a decoratively carved wood door. The passage and all rooms to the left have stone flagged floors, and there is a former coach house, now used as a garage, to the right.
