Description
This is a group of 15 headstones located south of the south porch of the Church of St. Michael. The headstones date mainly from the 17th century and early 18th century and are made of carved ironstone. Among them, there are three stones featuring shaped and moulded tops with sunk or moulded panels, and two stones that have incised panels. One headstone, dated 1692, showcases carved heads, swags, and cable twist uprights, with one also featuring an open segmental pediment. Another headstone, dated 1661, has an ogee top with scroll ends and incised drapery. An early 18th-century headstone displays a large Baroque cartouche, while a headstone dated 1679 includes one large and two small semi-circular finials, half-shafts, and a sunk moulded panel.
