Description
This group of eight headstones, located approximately 12 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St. Michael, dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and is made of carved ironstone. Among them is a headstone dated 1675, featuring a shaped scroll top with a head and festoon, an entablature, cable twist pilasters, and a segmental-arched sunk panel. Another headstone has a steep open segmental pediment with a central hourglass, half-columns, and a sunk panel. A late 17th or early 18th-century headstone showcases a moulded double segmental top, two heads, and a double festoon of fruit and drapery, along with a moulded fielded panel. Six of the stones are positioned back to back. This group is included for its collective historical value.
