Description

A row of four houses built in the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brick, with a brick dentil cornice; numbers 71, 75 and 77 have a rendered finish. They have slate roofs and brick internal stacks. The houses are arranged with a double-depth plan. The houses are two storeys high. Numbers 73 to 77 each have a single-window front, while number 71 has a two-window front. Number 73 also has a lower one-window range on the right, set back, which links it to number 71. The front doors vary: number 71 has a late 20th-century glazed door with an overlight and a moulded wooden surround; passage and number 73 have plank doors; number 75 has a six-panelled door; and numbers 73 and 75 have door hoods. Numbers 71 to 75 feature early to mid-19th-century bow windows with glazing bars, reeded pilaster strips, and fascia. The first floor has mostly 16-pane sashes with painted wooden lintels. Number 77 has a late 20th-century half-glazed door, a porch, and casement windows. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. Number 71 may have originally been a detached property.
