Description
Priory House is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a brick string course and a wood modillion cornice. The roof is tiled with brick ridge stacks. The building has a central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with a five-window range. The central entrance consists of a double-leaf, four-panelled door with an overlight and a moulded wood surround, topped by a hood supported on carved scroll brackets, with the string course broken above it. The windows are cross windows with glazing bars and sashes, and they have gauged brick flat arches. On the ground floor, the windows on the right have been replaced with a single late 19th-century tripartite window featuring a segmental brick arch. To the right, there is a small early to mid-19th-century colourwashed brick range that has a brick dentil cornice and 16-pane sashes. There is a blocked doorway and an altered carriage entrance with doors. At the rear, some windows have cambered arches. The interior has not been inspected.
