Description
The Lord Nelson Inn is a public house built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick, with the ground floor and the left side covered in colour wash. The building features a wooden eaves cornice supported by paired shaped brackets and has a slate roof with brick ridge stacks. It is designed in an L-shape and has three storeys with a three-window range.
The central entrance consists of a half-glazed, four-panelled door, which has been blocked internally, and is framed by a simple moulded wood surround. On either side of the entrance, there are two cast iron columns that support the central section of a continuous roof and fascia, which features a dentil cornice above the door and two canted bays. The windows are 16-pane sashes. The first floor displays rendered flat arches with rusticated voussoirs and keystones. The interior has been altered over time.
