Description

The Bell Inn is a mid-18th century inn located in Shipston on Stour. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a stone plinth, quoins, and a storey band. The roof is tiled, with brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and is arranged over two storeys plus an attic, with a five-window front. Originally, a central archway provided access, featuring double-panelled doors, though this is now blocked by a 20th-century glazed door and windows. To the left and right of the archway, and to the five first-floor openings, are 12-pane sash windows with brick flat arches. A brick storey band sits above the first-floor windows. Three hipped dormers are visible, each with a 12-pane sash window. Inside, a 18th-century stone fireplace is found in the room to the ground floor right, and there is a six-panelled door.
