Description

No. 9, Sheep Street is a shop, originally a house, dated 1722, with an additional storey added in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of squared, coursed lias stone, rendered on the front, and has a slate roof with brick end stacks. It is three storeys high, with a two-window front. The plan is based on two units. A 20th-century glazed door is at the centre, with a 19th-century canted shop front on either side. A bracketed hood extends over the door and shop front. A 18th-century sixteen-pane sash window is on the first floor to the right, and a six-pane sash window is on the second floor to the right. A moulded, painted datestone inscribed 'B/BM/1722' is on the first floor centre. The interior has not been inspected.
