Description
A farmhouse with an attached granary and stable, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with the stable and granary possibly slightly later. Constructed of regular coursed ironstone, the stable and granary are of rougher stone. The farmhouse has a slate roof with coped gable parapets, moulded kneelers, and stone end stacks with brick shafts. It follows a central staircase plan and is two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. A mid to late 19th-century porch sits centrally, featuring a coped gable parapet and half-glazed double doors. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes, while the first floor has 20th-century cross-windows. Stone lintels with keyblocks are found throughout. A small, central box roof dormer incorporates a 9-pane sash. The rear elevation is irregular, with a late 19th-century addition. Inside, there are some original 3-plank doors with strap hinges, alongside mid-19th-century moulded 6-panelled doors and doorcases. The granary, located to the left, has a small 19th-century window. The left return gable features 19th-century shaped bargeboards. The rear has a covered external brick staircase and plank doors. The stable, to the right, includes a blocked doorway.
