Description
This semi-detached cottage, dating from the 17th century, features a timber frame with brick infill, although the front has been rebuilt in brick. It has an old tile roof and a brick and rendered chimney stack. The cottage follows a two-unit plan with a gable facing the road and consists of one storey plus an attic, with a one-window range. The entrance includes a 20th-century half-glazed door and a trellis porch. The windows are 19th-century casements, some of which have glazing bars, and the ground floor openings are topped with bold segmental brick arches. The right side and rear of the cottage reveal exposed framing and jowled posts. Inside, there are broad-chartered ceiling beams, and it is said to have a blocked open fireplace. This building is included for its group value.
