Description

The Green Dragon Public House is a 17th-century building that has been partially refronted or rebuilt in the mid to late 18th century. It features a timber frame with lath and plaster and whitewashed brick infill. The 18th-century front is made of whitewashed brick, accented with a brick string course band and a dentil cornice. The building has a 20th-century tiled roof and brick stacks, forming a complex L-plan.

The left section of the pub is two storeys high with an attic and has a two-window range. The central entrance features a 20th-century plank door with a moulded wood surround and a simple hood. The leaded-light casements, which have old external shutters, are set under brick segmental arches. The right section displays exposed framing and is one storey with an attic, featuring a 20th-century box dormer and a single-storey two-window range with sham timber framing. The right section also has 20th-century leaded-lattice casements.

On the left return side, there is a 20th-century porch, with a single casement window on each floor. At the rear, the two-storey and attic section showcases exposed timber framing and twin gables with a lozenge of brick nogging at the apex. Inside, the pub retains exposed timber framing, broad chamfered ceiling beams, and a straight flight staircase. There are also 19th and 20th-century additions at the rear.
