Description
Perrymill Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. They are timber framed with substantial timbers and brick infill, and are largely built on a brick base. The cottages have a tile roof and brick internal stacks. No. 1 features a two-unit baffle entry, while No. 2 has a one-unit plan. Both cottages are one storey with an attic and have a three-window range. They include plank doors, one old leaded-light casement window, and 19th and 20th-century casements. There are dormers present as well. The left side of No. 1 is underbuilt with a wide casement but retains jowled posts, while the right side is pebble dashed. At the rear, there is a small amount of exposed timber framing. Inside No. 1, there is an open fireplace, winder stairs, oak board doors, and a broad-chamfered ceiling beam. It is noted that No. 1 was used as a needle workshop at one time.
