Description
The House at Spernal Ash Dairy is a 17th-century farmhouse with a front roof that was raised in the 18th century, along with additional features from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed with a timber frame and whitewashed brick infill, topped with an old tile roof and featuring brick end and internal stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a two-window layout. The central entrance has a 19th-century ribbed door and overlight with glazing bars, sheltered by a shallow hood. The 18th or early 19th-century casements also have numerous glazing bars. The raised top section of the front wall showcases thinner framing, and the return sides are supported by jowled posts. At the rear, there is a one-storey and attic section, partially built with whitewashed brick and featuring a brick internal stack and 19th-century casements. To the left, there is a single-storey range built in whitewashed brick from the 18th or 19th century, which includes a ribbed door and a casement with glazing bars at the front, along with an end stack. The interior has not been inspected.
