Description

The Morrell headstone, located approximately 15 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Mary and St Margaret in Combrook, commemorates John Morrell, who died in 1719. The headstone is made of ashlar and features a segmental head, although it is now partly buried. The inscription is flanked by putti, one of which is damaged, and includes a cherub at the top along with drapes. The inscription is well preserved and concludes with the words: "THE ELDEST OF THE FO/ URTH GENERATION IN/ THIS CHURCHYARD."
