Description
This is a house located at 1 Holtom Street in Stratford-upon-Avon, built between 1858 and 1859 by William Holtom. The building is made of brick with buff headers and features stucco dressings, topped with a slate roof and brick stop-chamfered end stacks. It is designed in the Georgian style and has two storeys with a two-window range. A top brick cornice adds to its architectural detail.
The central entrance includes a doorcase with fluted pilasters and a bracketed cornice, leading to a 20th-century half-glazed door. To the left, there is a segmental-headed entry with a plank door. The windows are set with sills and have rusticated wedge lintels with keys above 12-pane sashes, while the first floor features 9-pane sashes. This house is part of the early 19th-century development in the southern part of Stratford.
