Description
A pair of houses built in 1840 by Joseph Holtom, situated within the early 19th-century development of the southern part of Stratford-upon-Avon. The houses are constructed of brick with buff headers and stucco dressings, featuring a slate roof and a brick stack arranged cross-axially. They are built in a Georgian style, with a symmetrical two-window frontage. The eaves are plain. Each house has an entrance with a moulded doorcase, incorporating paterae and a cornice. One door has fielded and flush panels, the other four. The windows have sills and rusticated wedge lintels above 12-pane sashes on the ground floor and 9-pane sashes on the first floor. Information regarding the building's history is held within the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Record Office.
