Description

Tudor Vale is a house dating back to the 16th century, significantly altered and extended in the 20th century. It has a timber-frame structure built upon a rubble plinth, with a steeply pitched roof of renewed tiles and brick end stacks. The house is arranged in three sections, with a 20th-century extension to the rear right.

The main part of the house is single-storey with an attic, featuring a three-window arrangement. The centre and left-hand sections project forward under a catslide roof. The front door is located in an open porch at the end of the projecting section and is a 20th-century plank door. A battened door is also located at the left end. The windows are leaded casements. The ground floor features a window with two lights and a canted oriel with a lean-to roof and 1:3:1-light glazing. The first floor has a large gabled dormer with casements of 1:3:1-light glazing, and two smaller gabled dormers to the right, each with two-light casements. The ground floor displays close-studded timber framing, while the first floor to the right of the projecting section exhibits decorative framing. The right return has similar decorative framing and a small gabled projection. A recessed two-window range of 20th-century brickwork to the right is faced with applied timber framing, two gabled dormers and an end stack.

The interior was not inspected, but is noted to contain a 20th-century staircase.
